Quality of Life of Children and Personnel at a Cancer Ward Was Markedly Improved – Learn How

How was the quality of life of children and personnel at a Cancer ward markedly improved?

The answer: They were all introduced to energy techniques like Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT).

I’m Deborah Miller, an EFT practitioner with a Doctorate in Cell and Molecular Biology. Since September of 2007 I’ve been honored by the opportunity to apply EFT and energy techniques in a children’s cancer ward in a hospital in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. The results are extensive and far-reaching. It touches not only the child but all who are involved in the cancer ward.

My work compliments that of the hospital treatments. It doesn’t interfere or replace but incorporates, augments and improves the existing treatments by providing powerful and necessary tools that relieve emotional trauma such as fear, loneliness, and unwillingness to cooperate with the doctor and/or nurses.

Simple, short techniques offer a way in which to improve the overall atmosphere of the cancer ward from one of misery to that of peace and hope.

Taking this opportunity has changed my life since what has transpired has gone way beyond that which I could have imagined would happen. As of July 2009 I’ve worked with 165 children and over 500 family members plus many of the hospital staff including the head oncologist. I see profound changes in the children, parents and staff as I facilitate energy techniques with them all.

It is time for me to share what has transpired and hopefully inspire you to take advantage of the opportunities that come your way because you never know where they will take you. I for sure, never imagined I would work with kids with cancer or embark on a journey of teaching energy techniques in hospitals. As you take advance of the gifts and opportunities you receive and use your gifts to the maximum, blessings are sure to come of them.

When I first started working with the kids at the hospital doing energy techniques like EFT, I was curious as to what would happen despite the limiting working conditions and circumstances. With time, a little bit of encouragement and perseverance, I began to see the real magnitude of what was transpiring. I became aware that true improvements were made.

Not only were these children feeling better emotionally as they released their fear of their illness, the color “white”, needles, the hospital environment, their treatments and surgeries, but physically as their fevers were reduced, pain and nausea diminished, and their immune systems recovered faster. A sense of hope for getting better while having feelings of joy and laughter sprung up. On top of it all, they were developing a sense of self-esteem and self-worth. These children were becoming empowered.

Beyond finding out about these very important yet often overlooked changes, I was glad to see that many of the children who tapped with me were learning life skills that are rarely taught to them. They were given a sense of dignity that allowed them to embrace their disease instead of hate it. They could own it as well as claim their right to heal, which allows their body to begin the healing process.

I saw child after child tap on their own, or tap on TappyBear (a delightful stuffed bear with the tapping points) as well as remind their parents to tap with them. They began to choose to feel better, under the worst of circumstances, and to allow themselves to be happy by focusing on all that was good at that moment in their lives. In return, I received my most cherished trophy, their smiles and joy.

The quality of life for these children has improved drastically, and consequently that of their parents, the hospital staff, the doctor and me.

It is such an honor to work with these children as they are incredible souls. Teaching and working with energy techniques with these kids has been the most incredible experience of my life. I have grown personally, it’s changed my perceptions and paradigms, and also as a Meridian Tapping and EFT practitioner who uses many energy techniques.
